BYU Facilities Space Management

Space Management

Mission

The mission of the Office of Space Management is to effectively manage the university's space resources for campus functions and church use. The following objectives/goals support the mission:

  • Identify and allocate space to campus and church units for a specific function or purpose
  • Assist in planning for the future facility needs of the university and BYU stakes and wards
  • Insure optimum use of the university's space resources
  • Act as a facilitator in the use and occupancy of space

About Us

Space Management manages space in facilities on campus. Space is a University resource and is allocated to users for a specific function or purpose. New space requests should be referred to Space Management through the College Representative. Colleges/departments are to coordinate all space changes with Space Management.

Space Management coordinates building use for both academic and church purposes. All space on campus is subject to Sunday and/or Tuesday evening use by BYU stakes and wards.

Space Management maintains a limited stock of used furniture for authorized University use.

BYU Stake and Ward Information

The BYU Stake and Ward Information is available through Space Management. Space Management provides meeting places and office space for the wards, as well as ward information (ward and stake boundaries, names of stake presidents and bishops, meeting times and places) to the campus community and students. Space Management acts as a liaison between the wards and the campus. Ward or stake concerns should be coordinated through Space Management, 422-5508.
